Palpedia
Pals
The Palpedia is the in-game database and primary index of all Pals in Palworld. It catalogues Pal species and their variants, serving as a reference for identification, discovery, and comparison.
The Palpedia is accessible from the game’s main menu from the start of play and expands as new Pals are encountered. On the wiki, it functions as a centralized index linking to individual Pal pages, while detailed mechanics related to capturing, raising, and using Pals are covered on the Pals page.
Although the name “Palpedia” is also used for a promotional video series released by Pocketpair, the video numbering does not correspond to in-game Palpedia entries.
Pal Subspecies
Many Pal subspecies follow a consistent naming convention that appends a Latin- or Greek-derived term to the base species name, indicating how the subspecies differs from its original form.
- Aqua — Latin for “water”; used for Water-element subspecies
- Botan — Greek for “plant”; used for Grass-element subspecies
- Cryst — Shortened form of “crystal”; used for Ice-element subspecies
- Ignis — Latin for “fire”; used for Fire-element subspecies
- Libero — Italian for “freed” or “unleashed”; used for subspecies that retain the same element as their base form
- Lux — Latin for “light”; used for Electric-element subspecies
- Noct — Derived from Latin noctis, meaning “of the night”; used for Dark-element subspecies
- Ryu — Japanese for “dragon”; used for Dragon-element subspecies
- Terra — Latin for “earth”; used for Ground-element subspecies
